Every person has a story, and every story is a lesson. At Uncubate, we’re lucky to share space with individuals whose journeys inspire and resonate deeply. Today, we bring you the story of Yukktesh Adwani, a graphic designer who followed his passion, even when the odds were stacked against him.

Yukktesh is the creative force behind Hey Lazy Designer, a brand that reflects his unique approach to life and work—laid-back yet driven, unhurried yet purposeful. But his path to this point wasn’t straightforward. It was filled with moments of self-discovery, tough decisions, and unwavering determination.

The Seed of Inspiration

For Yukktesh, everything began when he was in the 10th grade. Life was simple then—school, friends, and the usual teenage dreams. But one encounter changed his world. He met someone who sparked a fire in him, nudging him toward the world of design. That moment stayed with him, influencing his decision to pursue fashion designing.

But life, as it often does, had other plans.

A Life-Changing Opportunity—and a Tough Decision

During his time as a fashion design student, Yukktesh received an offer that most people would jump at—Swiggy approached him with a graphic designing role. Yet, instead of leaping in, he hesitated. He wasn’t sure. It wasn’t fear or doubt; it was confusion, the kind we all feel when we’re not entirely sure of the road ahead. So, he said no.

In hindsight, that rejection wasn’t the end of anything. It was a turning point.

Finding Passion Unexpectedly

As time passed, Yukktesh realized that fashion design didn’t truly ignite his passion. It felt forced, like a puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit. That’s when he found graphic design—a space where his creativity could breathe freely, unrestricted.

But not everyone understood his choice.

A Battle for Belief

Convincing his parents, especially his father, wasn’t easy. They had dreams of their own for him—dreams of taking over the family business. But Yukktesh stood firm. He knew where his heart lay, even if it meant going against expectations.

“It was hard,” he admits. “But sometimes, you have to be stubborn for what you truly want.”

That stubbornness led him to an internship, where he started building his skills, and eventually to freelancing, where he found freedom and fulfillment.

The Freelancer’s Philosophy

When asked why he chose freelancing over a stable 9-to-5 job, Yukktesh’s answer is simple but profound: “I don’t want to fit into an hours box.”

For him, freelancing isn’t just work; it’s a lifestyle. It gives him the freedom to create on his terms, balance work with life, and explore his potential without limits.

But Yukktesh isn’t one to claim that freelancing is the only way. “Jobs are important too,” he says. “Businesses need employees as much as employees need employers. It’s all about finding the balance that works for you.”

Living the Lazy Designer Life

Through Hey Lazy Designer, Yukktesh isn’t just designing visuals; he’s crafting a life that aligns with his values. His story is one of courage and conviction—a reminder that it’s okay to take the unconventional route, to make mistakes, and to keep moving forward.
